April 4: Knowledge, Power, and the Future of Academic Freedom

Attacks on faculty free speech and academic freedom are at an unprecedented high. Come join your colleagues and discuss how to protect our academic freedom at an afternoon dedicated to “Knowledge, Power, and the Future of Academic Freedom,” Thursday, April 4, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in the Art Annex (Technocultural Studies Building) Room 107. The event will begin with a public talk from Joan Wallach Scott and Henry Reichman.

The public, professors, students, researchers, medical professionals, staff and the entire university community is invited to attend this event and discuss recent issues in Academic Freedom. This is part of a series of events launched to investigate the problems facing us in higher education in California, and to discuss concrete ways to move forward.

This event is sponsored by the Davis Faculty Association, and the departments of English, Sociology, and Cinema and Digital Media.
